Helen's desire to achieve paintings of
softness, memories, serenity and nature began
with her exposure to art when her mother, a
commercial artist, began teaching art lessons.
As a grade-schooler, she was one of her
students (in order to keep her busy!), so she
began early in her South Miami, Florida, home.
She continued through her college years and
beyond, learning the techniques that would
allow her to express her own interpretations of
the subject and the medium.
She has worked in oil, watercolor, gouache, pen
and ink, and acrylic, with acrylic what she
enjoys painting in the most. She uses her own
photographs as reference, and devotes three to
four hours at a time to painting, listening to
her favorite music as she paints, and living
with her painting as it progresses. The
painting must please her first!
Helen is proud to be a charter member of the
Blue Whole Gallery since 1997.
